DP-0: Prototype

Within the two hours allotted for designing, sketching, and building, my team and I were able to develop this prototype of an easily, replicable, wrist orthosis using materials that can be found in an elementary school.

The wooden dowels act as splints to prevent the wrist from bending and the entire brace is reinforced by cardboard.

The inside is insulated with bubble wrap to add some heat to help with the healing process as well as makes the brace more comfortable to wear.

Finally, without Velcro at our disposal, we substituted a pipe cleaner as  a means to tighten and add adjust-ability to our design.
